Child Development Stages – Using Psychotherapy To Understand Your Child

May 14, 2015

Raising a baby, especially for the first time, is both exciting and challenging. A child goes through distinct stages of development as he or she grows from an infant to a young adult. During each of these stages, multiple changes take place, including physical, intellectual, social, and emotional changes. In time, parents begin to discover who their child really is as a person and, hopefully, establish the bonds that last a lifetime, helping the child develop the inner resources that are crucial for a healthy self-esteem and the ability to relate positively with others. A child’s parent is really like a coach, providing just the right combination of encouragement, support and guidance.

Our goal is to help parents understand what is taking place in their child’s mind and body during each period of development, with the hope of helping them enable the child to progress through each stage as easily and successfully as possible.
